About Imageyenation
Here to break the grip of corporate control on your mind, body, and soul, the Imageyenation (pronounced image-eye-nation) digital arts collective is on a mission to define, and re-define, underground, urban, and alternative culture for our distinctly post-modern, media-saturated, multi-ethnic society.

Of or relating to an avant-garde movement or its films, publications and art, usually privately produced and of special appeal and often concerned with social or artistic experiment.

ur·ban
(adj.)
Of, relating to, located in or characteristic of a city or city life.

al·ter·na·tive
(adj.)
Existing outside traditional or established institutions or systems and espousing or reflecting values that are different from those of the establishment or mainstream.

Based in the post-industrial-wasteland of Springfield, Massachusetts, with agents embedded throughout the northeastern United State and elsewhere, the Imageyenation collective (also known as the Urban Alternatives Crew) of disc jockeys, writers, photographers, artists, guerrilla sociologists, and post-modern urban anthropologists is an outlet for underground, urban, and alternative culture, and a laboratory for the development and production of new and exciting media ventures. Our fields of interest are vast, encompassing art, music, movies, books, television, magazines, news, current events, science, technology, the web, spirituality, fashion, popular culture and lifestyle trends. All of which we filter to you, via reviews, critiques, commentary, opinions, blogging, broadcasting, podcasting, and multimedia production.

Founded by El Keter ben Tzadik, and operating for over five years, the Imageyenation web-front has taken a number of forms. From an infrequently updated one-man operation. To an article-based showcase for cutting edge entertainment and political content. To it's current (and most prolific) incarnation as a group weblog (or e-zine) with a number of contributors offering up frequent content updates that run the gamut from short blurbs on, or links to, news of interest, spirited rants and critiques on current events, entertainment & media news and links, in-depth music, book and movie reviews and a whole lot more.

Not content with conquering the world of the interweb alone, we've taken to spreading our taste in mind-altering music, our "real man talk" philosophy, and our progress-embracing lifestyle via the public airwaves as well! Every week members of the Imageyenation collective can be heard spinning incredible music, discussing interesting topics, cracking wise, and keeping it real on the Dusty Grooves and Urban Alternatives radio programs, broadcasting late-night Monday and Wednesday from 12 midnight to 3 AM eastern time on community radio station 90.7 FM WTCC in Springfield Massachusetts and streaming live on the web around the globe. So tune in, or listen online for a dose of Imageyenation live!

If you have a project that you believe Imageyenation should be involved with somehow please contact El Keter ben Tzadik by e-mail at keter@imageyenation.com, or get in touch with an appropriate collective member via the e-mail form on their individual profile pages. Publicists and other public relations or promotion related folks (including bands) are urged to send press releases, announcements, media links, MP3s and other links of note to this address as well.

If you have a music, film, print, or other media based project you would like Imageyenation to review, play in some type of DJ capacity (live events, mixtapes, broadcast, podcast, etc), or otherwise help get out to the masses please contact El Keter ben Tzadik by e-mail at keter@imageyenation.com for our shipping address. We'll be happy to take all your vinyl records, cassette tapes, compact discs, video tapes, digital video discs, books, comics, magazines, video games, clothing samples and other miscellanea off your hands.

And finally, if you have more than a passing interest in becoming a contributing member of the collective here at Imageyenation please contact El Keter ben Tzadik by e-mail at keter@imageyenation.com with some information about yourself, details as to why, and in what manner, you wish to contribute, and a sample of, or links to, your work. We are always looking for new contributors, especially knowledgeable self-starters and media reviewers, so please don't hesitate to contact us about joining the family.

SEND US GOODIES

If you want to send music, movies, books or any other media to Imageyenation for review or feature consideration, please inquire about our shipping address via e-mail. And feel free to send us MP3s, media links, news, gossip, press releases and other pertinent information to keter (at) imageyenation (dot) com. Please note that while we're always glad to receive music and other goodies we can't guarantee that all submissions will be featured on the site.
