So cool. I actually was looking for a decent priced OG AT-AT on eBay the other day. I have no clue where mine disappeared to. Oh and arriving soon is an all new 24" AT-AT that looks insane. I need to get my hands on one.

ScumLife Beast Hombre With Glowing Chest Action!

With the release of the ScumeLife Beast Hombre action figure (with “glowing chest action!”) rapper, artist, entrepreneur and clothier Tone Tank has officially added “toy designer and manufacturer” to his résumé.

Hello Friends and people who appreciate weird handcrafted things,

Over the past year or so I developed an addiction to bootleg action figures.
You know the kind where they have five Spiderman figures with Chinese glowing chest action? There's also the variety packs that have every action figure that ever existed, in the same pack, which often have a big-headed Superman with a Samurai sword... and glowing chest, always with the glowing chest.

Since then quite a few days have been spent trying to get my fix in Brooklyn 99 cent stores. I have also been on a quest to acquire all the toys I had in the 80's that my mother swears she hasn't thrown out... as well as the toys she wouldn't buy me as a kid. That crusade has led to many a night sneaking around on Ebay.

Anyway, all of this brings us to: ‘Beast Hombre’... with glowing chest action.
A bi-product of my obsession with Chinese bootlegs and 80's action figures.
They are handmade out of resin by me. I made 24 of them.
They are available at http://scumlife.com/scumlife-store/ for those who are interested.

98% of the time I am opposed to anything “clear” on a sneaker. The 2% that I approve of are the Air Jordan VI's and these Athletics North Dunk High's. Very clear. Very clean. Love the wool. Plus I have a better chance at tracking them down than these.

ScumLife 9-11 Sale!

Brooklyn, New York-based emcee Tone Tank isn't just one of my favorite rappers, he's the owner of ScumLife, one of my favorite streetwear companies!

Seriously, a week doesn't go by where I don't wear one of his many fresh ScumLife t-shirts which pay tribute to skate culture, Punk-Rock, Hip-Hop and random scumminess.

Because it's about to be 9-11 Tone is putting the limited amount of stock he has left of his last two t-shirt lines up for sale for only $11 per shirt!

So head your ass on over to the ScumLife store now because only a few shirts in a few sizes remain in stock, and at these prices they're bound to sell out fast!

German shoemaker adidas is handing over their classic Rod Laver signature tennis shoe to a slew of their “Consortium” partners to be radically re-interpreted for modern sneakerheads.

My favorite of the new Consortium Collection kicks is this brightly colored headband-and-tennis-ball-inspired take on the old-school Laver courtesy of the Barcelona, Spain-based LimitEDitions boutique.

adidas® Originals LimitEDitions Rod Laver

These LimitEDitions Lavers, which are made of a terrycloth-like material, feature a transparent yellow/green & red branded sole and are padded after the manner of a skate shoe, drop on August 22nd.

I want them, but like other limited release kicks, including the other Consortium Collection Lavers from the likes of Dave's Quality Meats, V.A. and UNDFTD, they're probably way-way out my price-range.

With less than a month to go before ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ hits theaters Hasbro is opening the floodgates on all things G.I. Joe related. I‘ve been following all the toy related Joe news over at Hisstank.com and Generalsjoes.com ever since I learned of the Joe movie, so you know damn well I was paying a visit to my old friend Geoffrey over at Toys “Я” Us this past Monday to check out the figures and vehicles. I was very impressed. Apparently Hasbro is also dropping a new batch of commercials.

You have to love the homage to the old 80’s commercials, but it's missing something.

The theme song dammit! C‘mon!

As ambivalent as I am about the live action movie I cannot front on what Hasbro cooked up on the toy front. These figures are so slick! For anyone that had the old 80’s Joe's these will blow your mind. I only picked up Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow because those are favorites and I knew if picked up some of the others that looked incredibly dope (Destro, Deep Six, Shipwreck, Duke) I'd end up on the floor of my room conducting some sort of battle between the Joes and Cobra and no one wants to see that.

I can't front though checking out all the new Joe figures brought me back to when I was a kid and I used to head on over to Child World and beg whomever I was with for the one Joe I didn't have yet. Ah the good old days...when I was spending someone else's money. Those were also the good old days when toy stores actually existed! It dawned on me as I went to every Target and Wal-Mart (SHUT UP!) in Western Mass. on a hunt for the two alternate versions of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (Ended up purchasing them online, and at a discounted price. HA!) that toy stores went the way of the dinosaur. Browsing for toys is no where near as fun on the internets, so support your local toy store before it's gone!

The Originators “Juice Crew” Tee

One of my new favorite garments is this eye-catching “Juice Crew” tee—designed in honor of the legendary mid-‘80s Queens, New York-bred Hip-Hop collective—from The Originators, a Los Angeles-based clothier dedicated to preserving the legacy of cultural trailblazers relevant to the Hip-Hop generation.

They sell numerous shirts honoring rappers, DJs, b-boys and graffiti artists—like the aforementioned Juice Crew, A Tribe Called Quest, Slick Rick, the Cold Crush Brothers, Taki 183, Grand Wizard Theodore, Kurtis Blow and more—but don’t confine themselves solely to the aggrandizement of Hip-Hop icons.

Famous names and faces from the worlds of sports, politics and art—like the ‘85 Lakers, the 1980’s Dodgers infield, Roberto Clemente, various Yankees greats, Mahatma Gandhi, Pancho Villa, Barack Obama, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Piet Mondrian—also grace their gear as well.

The clothing and skate brand—yes, they sell skate decks in addition to their line of men's & women's tees, hats, jackets, polos and accessories—has been in business since 2003 and recently opened a flagship retail location—which boasts in-store murals from artist Mear One—in Los Angeles' Fairfax District.

Nike Air Max 90 Flywire TZ

I had these Nike Cortez back when I was a kid that had a similar grid pattern. I loved them. These Air Max Current 90s with the hybrid sole and futuristic Vectran fibers look like their grown up alien cousin. I need them in my life.

Being unemployed and home most of my day has led me to watch way too much of the tube. I hate a majority of the commercials that are geared toward hiring this lawyer, joining this diet programs or investing in this product that will make you “regular”, I'm talking about you Activia! However Chi Chi's latest commercial managed to made me chuckle.

I don't want chicken, vegetarian here, but I could sure go for some tortilla chips, guac and salsaaaaa! Glad I have taste buds.
