Brighton, Massachusetts-based Cotter Records—home to last year's Superstar Quamallah LP and a limited edition 45 from Imageyenation favorite Nedelle a few years back—presents San Francisco, California-bred emcee Biko's “Sunday (A Song for Cannon).”

The smooth, izznyce-produced, soul-sampling piece of poetic Pan-African philosophizing is available now, with an additional izznyce instrumental track gracing the b-side on limited-edition 45RPM 7'' vinyl from select retailers on Cotter Records.

Green Llamas ‘Llamaville’

In 2007 Midwestern Hip-Hop duo Uncut Raw, comprised of emcee/producers Selfish and Fluent, dropped ‘First Toke’ which was instantly recognized by heads with taste as a modern classic of the genre.

Though Fluent teamed up with fellow Green Llamas crewmember Decay for an album titled ‘The Antique Black’ under the group-name City Slick soon after that little has been heard from the Llamas since.

Thanks to the newest addition to the Green Llamas, Watts-bred beatmaker/emcee Dibia$e, with whom the entire Llama posse has recorded an album titled ‘Llamaville, that silence is about to come to an end!

Produced in appropriately grimy “tapedeck music” style entirely by Project Blowed veteran Dibia$e the free-to-download ‘Llamaville’ project is a 19-track breakthrough for the Green Llamas as a collective.

And don't forget to keep an ear open for more from Green Llamas including an as-yet-untitled City Slick record, Tone Liv and Vincent Price's ‘Timberland Boots’ and Uncut Raw's long-awaited sophomore LP ‘Heavy Dose.

Delorean ‘No More Heroes’

You should know Sacramento, California-based Hip-Hop duo DLRN (formerly Delorean) from the artsy-fartsy video for their languid-but-uplifting tune dear “Dear Langston” which I shared in this space not too long ago.

That track was taken from emcee 5th Ave and beatmaker Jon Reyes' 2009 debut full-length ‘No More Heroes, which they‘ve since made available as a free download in an effort to whet appetites for their sophomore LP.

You can download ’No More Heroes' at the link below and enjoy listening to it while you count down the days until DLRN make their new record ‘The Bridge’ available for free download as well on July 20th, 2010.

20100701-tone_tank_and_scott_thorough-crack_selector.jpg

Nuke Fam stalwarts Tone Tank and Scott Thorough team up with Kool A.D. of Das Racist for a bouncy, Reggae-splashed Summertime single titled “Crack Selector.”

The tune is essentially a sequel in everything but name to Das Racist's instant classic “Fake Patois” from their ‘Shut Up, Dude’ mixtape which dropped a while back.

Tone Tank & Scott Thorough “Crack Selector” feat. Kool A.D. of Das Racist

“Crack Selector” is a sneak peek at a forthcoming record featuring Tone Tank on the mic and Scott Thorough on the beats which is due out in September on Modern Shark.

So cool. I actually was looking for a decent priced OG AT-AT on eBay the other day. I have no clue where mine disappeared to. Oh and arriving soon is an all new 24" AT-AT that looks insane. I need to get my hands on one.

Singer/songwriter Rob Smoughton is tight with the guys from Hot Chip. He makes “Soft Rock with a mean streak” style music under the name Grovesnor. “Dan” is the first video from his just-released sophomore album.

If you like what you hear you can find the album, titled ‘Soft Return, at your favorite music retailer now on the Lo Records label. You can also download two mixes of the first single “Taxi From the Airport” below.

Montreal-based rapper Ira Lee is one of my favorite music artists of the moment.

His recent full-length ‘My Favorite Songs By Me’ hasn't left my iPod rotation in months!

“All the Places We Did It” featuring Linakim, which is from that album, is his first video.

It's also on his new free EP, ‘More Amazing Than Crazy, which you can download below.

I'm late as hell with this one but I'm digging the shit out of this track from LA's Foster The People and felt I needed to share.

Head on over to their website and grab the free download and then drive around town in your ride or on your bike or skateboard and bump it for all the kids with pumped up kicks to hear.
