From filmmaker Matthew Vaughn—‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, ‘Snatch, ‘Layer Cake, ‘Stardust’—comes ‘Kick-Ass, an adaptation of Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.'s comic book series of the same name.

The film, which stars Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (a.k.a. “McLovin” of ‘Supberbad’ fame), Chloë Moretz and Nicolas Cage as various ass-kicking vigilante heroes kicks its way into theatres April 16th.

I was sort of bummed to discover that the forthcoming Miguel Sapochnik-directed sci-fi action thriller ‘Repo Men’ is not the long-awaited sequel to Alex Cox's 1984 punk noir classic ‘Repo Man.

It is a futuristic, and bloody, vehicle for ass-kicking performances from actors Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Liev Schrieber, Alice Braga and Robert “RZA” Diggs, which hits theaters on April 2nd, 2010.

ROBOTS BLOWING SHIT UP! Word on the internets is that Uraguayan filmmaker Fede Alvarez made this for only $300. Hollywood went wild and Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures threw $30 Million Mr. Alvarez's way to develop something for them. Wow. Hopefully whatever gets developed involves giant robots blowing shit up.

Kurt Wimmer directed one of my favorite movies ever, ‘Equilibrium. He also directed a movie I‘ve never seen, ’Ultraviolet.' His latest gig is as co-writer of ‘Salt, an upcoming spy flick starring Angelina Jolie.

The Phillip Noyce-directed film, which also stars Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor, is due out out July 23rd, 2010.

‘The Horribly Slow Murderer With the Extremely Inefficient Weapon’ might be the best horror film of the year.

I'm not sure how the fantasy-tinged period-piece ‘Ong Bak 2: The Beginning’ is supposed to be a sequel to the original ‘Ong Bak. But seeing as it's got Tony Jaa jumping off elephants, swinging swords and kicking all sorts of ass, not to mention a mustachioed grandmaster, I'll gladly take it.

The film, which is set in ancient Thailand, was co-written and co-directed by its lead actor, martial artist Tony Jaa, himself. It hits video on demand outlets (like XBox, Amazon, etc.) today, and arrives in theatres on October 23rd via Magnolia Pictures/Magnet Releasing.

Since Christophe Gans never made a sequel to ‘Brotherhood of the Wolf’ I guess British filmmaker Michael J. Bassett's big-screen portrayal of Robert E. Howard's evil-battling Puritan ‘Solomon Kane’ will have to do.

No studio or release date has been announced for the reportedly $40,000,000 film which stars James Purefoy, Max von Sydow, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Pete Postlethwaite, Mackenzie Crook, Ian Whyte and others

These videos were created in 1973 as a part of the FSITO campaign to reduce the rate of drug use amongst orphans.

Or are they promotional videos for the blaxploitation spoof ‘Black Dynamite, which is due in theatres on October 16th.

What happens when you mix ‘Ponyo, legendary director Hayao Miyazaki's newest Studio Ghibli production, and ‘Saturday Night Live’-affiliated comedy troupe The Lonely Island's hit T-Pain-assisted tune “I'm on a Boat?”

Complete awesomeness happens, that's what!

‘Ponyo, a “The Little Mermaid”-inspired tale of underwater magic and inter-species romance starring Noah Cyrus, Frankie Jonas, Tina Faye, Matt Damon, Liam Neeson and Cate Blanchett, is in theatres now.

The Lonely Island's debut LP ‘Incredibad’ is in stores.

Viral video for another ‘Cloverfield’ film? Fan made nonsense? Either way I really want to see the original ‘Cloverfield’ right now...and a sequel in the near future.

‘Mystery Team’ is the debut feature-length film from internet sketch comedy troupe Derrick Comedy.

The trailer makes me laugh, really hard.

The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year.

It's currently in limited release around the country, but will open nationwide some time in October.

George Clooney.

Ewan McGregor.

Kevin Spacey.

Jeff Bridges.

“More Than a Feeling” by Boston.

It's ‘The Men Who Stare at Goats, director Grant Heslov's adaptation of Jon Ronson's 2004 book of the same name.

Look for it (with your mind) in theatres November 6th.

I‘ve made no secret about my hatred for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight. One of my main beefs is that Nolan just doesn't seem capable of choreographing, framing or shooting action. The brand new trailer for his next film ‘Inception’ makes it clear that's only the case when he's shooting action featuring Batman apparently.

Nolan wrote and directed the film which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, Tom Berenger, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard and Tom Hardy. Don't get too excited though. The seemingly ‘Dark City’ and ‘The Matrix’-inspired sci-fi/action flick isn't scheduled to arrive in theatres until July 16th, 2010.
