Emcees Chima Anya and Ineffable of the Oxford, Englad-based Hip-Hop duo GTA drop some refreshingly fun and positive everyman Rap on their new single and video "Wanna Be Myself."

I dunno about you, but I'm really digging Ineffable's feathered "do."

I gotta say, I wasn't sure how Cee Lo and Danger Mouse were going to follow up their monster success as Gnarls Barkley. Honestly, I wasn't totally sure that they even would, no matter how much fiduciary sense it made. But if they did, I hoped they wouldn't fuck it all up.

When their new single "Run" leaked I was relieved to hear they hadn't gone and mucked around with the formula that made them so dope in the first place. And the new video, featuring an inexplicable but hilarious cameo from Justin Timberlake shows they haven't lost their visual flair or sense of humor.

Their sophomore LP 'The Odd Couple' isn't due out until April 8th, but you can buy "Run" at the iTunes music store now.

A couple months back I posted British sensation Estelle's new track "American Boy" and promptly got the site shut down. For those of you that did hear it, you'll know that it's a cute track that features Kanye West showing off his knowledge of British pop culture. Now there's a video to go with it and amazingly enough, it shows guys in what would appear to be crazy neon colored clothes in (GASP!) black and white.

So for those of you who think we only post videos with 80's throwbacks and bright neon colors...this is for you.

Estelle's album 'Shine' is out this month off of Homeschool Records.

For reasons that will go un-elucidated here I haven't had a lot of opportunities to post recently. So I've been sitting on this dope remix of "Video Tape" from Radiohead's recent 'In Rainbows' LP courtesy of Scott Thorough, from Brooklyn Hip-Hop collective Nuclear Family.

Radiohead "Video Tape (Scott Thorough Remix)" feat. T-Pain and Gerald Levert

Then today I got another Scott Thorough remix, this time of a Cassettes Won't Listen track called "Paper Float" (which I guess CWL is having all sorts of folks remix to promote his new record 'Small-Time Machine'), in an e-mail. So, of course, I couldn't resist posting both.

Cassettes Won't Listen "Paper Floats (Scott Thorough Remix)"

Cassetts Won't Listen's 'Small-Time Machine' hits iTune March 4th, and more traditional retail locations March 11th. The debut EP, 'A Simple Night of Dancing With...', from Scott Thorough's collaborative project with Small Stories as The Boys and Girls Club is available now. And if you haven't copped Radiohead's 'In Rainbows,' well, fuck you then!

I only heard about this rad video by Atlanta she-Punks The Coathangers because the keyboardist is dating someone who sends me promo e-mails. But the song, "Tonya Harding," is pretty awesome, and the low-budget stop-motion quality of the clip is endearing. Oh, and it helps that they're cute, like if Punk-Rock was about panties and pillowfights instead of anarchy and rebellion.

When I saw the video I totally thought they must be from Brooklyn and was a little surprised that they're from Atlanta. But then I thought about how much the song reminded me of old B-52's and the Georgia connection started to make sense.

Don't get it twisted. You might think that the Running Man dance move was started by MC Hammer, but the truth is, it came all the way from Cardiff in Wales. Or at least that's how the video for Van She Tech's remix of Utah Saint's "Something Good" will have you believe.

The video is an awesome throwback to the 80's without being too over the top 80's.

Damn you MC Hammer! Damn you!

I don't know about you but I like doodles. Especially doodles about the random, inane, and insane. And it's even better when sometimes those doodles are paired with song lyrics that are equally random, inane, and insane and then your favorite artists are like "Hey! This is what I think this song should sound like." and they make something totally different than what the song sounded like in your head when you first read the lyrics, and you're like "Oh right, that's why you're a successful musician and I'm not."

So of course, I'm really liking David Shrigley's 'Worried Noodles'. You might remember a while ago, El Keter posted a Hot Chip track off of the Tomlab release. It also features artists like Deerhoof, David Byrne, and YACHT putting lyrics and images from Shrigley's 2005 songbook to music and kinda capturing the bizarre and prosaic spirit of Shrigley's humor just right.

Below, some of my favorite tracks.

Phil Elverum & Nick Krgovich "Watcha Doin'"

R. Stevie Moore "Live in Fear"

Liars "Panic Button"

And just for kicks, the video Shrigley directed for Blur's "Good Song" back in 2003.

So a little while back, I posted about a DJ from London named Sinden. He has a crazy remix of Fam-Lay's song "Da Beeper Record" featuring Pharrell. Well Sinden got together with sexy rapstress Kid Sister and created an even newer, fresher version of the track "Beeper."

But wait! There's more!

They have a video for it too!!

Props to The Couch Sessions and Different Kitchen for the video.

Now, I realize I haven't actually posted any other videos this week, but this clip for Illinois-based popsters Headlights' "Cherry Tulips" is just that good!

And in case you missed it, Headlights' newest LP 'Some Racing, Some Stopping' dropped via Polyvinyl Records earlier this week.

We know, we know... We're mad late with this thing this year. We usually have it in the bag right around New Years, but this year it got pushed back to Jan. 5th, then Jan. 15th, and finally Feb. 14th (replacing the "Top 10 Film/Television Crushes" list El Keter intended to orchestrate for Valentines Day), which somehow translates into this year's "Best of..." list being posted today, February 16th.

Should we give you the old standbys about how "anything good" is "worth waiting for," or shit being "better late than never?" Should we make a lot of excuses about how hectic and busy things have been? Or should we try to sell you a load of bullshit about how 2007 was just so dope that it took us mad long to compile this thing?

Well, we're not gonna do any of those things. We're just going to present to you the newest entry in our annual year-end re-caps and hope that we're a little more punctual next time.

Enjoy...

The video for Justice's "Phantom Pt. II" sure as hell ain't no "D.A.N.C.E." re-hash. And that's probably a good thing, since it's actually totally awesome for reasons of it's very own.

"Phantoms Pt. II" is from Justice's much beloved debut album '† (Cross)' which is in stores now on the Ed Banger/Vice label.

If there's a better band-name than Super Extra Bonus Party I dare you to name it.

Their self-titled album, which managed to be very Brazilian while not sounding too Baile Funk, wasn't bad at all either.

"Everything Flows" was just one of many not easily categorized songs from the LP.

Is "Throwing Away Broken Electronics" by Meanest Man Contest an early contender for Best Video of 2008?

Yup.

It's also the record I'm most mad at myself for not owning this week.

This lovely tune by The Terrordactyls featuring the irrepressible Kimya Dawson has been in regular rotation here at Imageyenation HQ since the just as irrepressible m. Cody discovered it a few weeks back.

It's called "Devices" and it's from The Terrordactyls self-titled debut LP which is out now on the Pankoff recording label.

It's also the most perfect post Valentines Day ditty ever.

Here's a little video that kind of illustrates what most people wish they were doing on Valentine's Day. It's from the band Group Sounds for their song "Temporarily In Love".

WARNING: This video is really not something you should watch at work (unless you work at home). Nor should you watch it around children, Right Wing Christians or your parents (unless they are cool like that).

Minneapolis-based Electro-Rock trio Digitata get an appropriately pixelated visual for their self-celebratory video-game sounding Indie tune "Digitata4 ever."

"Digitata4ever" is from Digitata's sophomore LP 'Two Daggers,' which is in stores now on the Totally Gross National Product label.

This must be a teaser for Kanye West's upcoming video for his single "Flashing Lights". The track, which also features Dwele, is, I think, one of the best off of Graduation. So to make an extraordinary video for an extraordinary song, Kanye inlisted the help of young but legendary filmmaker Spike Jonze.

If the video is as intense as this teaser, it may just be one of my fave videos for 2008.

I've said it here before, bu I'm gonna say it again: I LOVE music videos that have a documentary quality. What I mean is a music video that not only provides a visual outlet for a musical artist, but also makes a comment on an interesting social phenomenon.

Copenhagen based superstar DJ Kenneth Bager's new video is one of these videos. The track is called .

Directed by Uwe Flade, "Fragment 8: Sound of Swing" takes place in Vietnam and shows how crazy the culture of motor bikes is.

I've heard stories about the bikes in Vietnam from friends who have spent time over there. But I never realized how nuts it really is!

Check out more music from Kenneth Bager on his MySpace page.

Richard Zednik, NHL's Florida Panthers right wing, sustained severe injuries to his neck after he and his teammate collided Sunday. One of Zedniks major arteries was cut when teammate Olli Jokinen lost his balance during the game and kicked up his leg in order to regain his footing. Zednik was skating towards Jokinen at the time and the two met right as Jokinen's leg was fully extended. Zednik went down immediately after Jokinen's skate sliced into his neck. The seasoned announcers of the game immediately said that Zednik's carotid artery was severd due to the amounts of blood the player had lost in such a short period of time. Zednik was rushed to a Buffalo NY hospital in order to treat the life threatening injury. He is reported to be in stable condition.

There seems to be something in the water in the UK. A lot of the up and coming music acts seem to be inspired from music from past decades. Whether it's soul from the 60's or Hip Hop from the 80's. Funky band The Heavyfit and yet don't fit into that category. While they do have a "Big Band meets James Brown" funky sound, there is something more modern about them. Lead singer Swaby sings an amazing falsetto over solid bass riffs and brassy horn sections. It's not wonder then that The Heavy will be performing at the South By South West music festival next month.

Their single "Colleen" had a few videos made for it in the Rader Film Festival, one of which won for the best student presentation. Director Ross Phillips created a humourous animation for the track featuring a Big Foot like creature going on a date and wreaking havoc along the way.

Here's another video for the same song. I didn't think it was as cool as the animation, but it does have some pretty sweet visuals. You can decide which one you like better.

The Heavy are yet another band to have on your Ipod for 2008. Check out more of their music at their MySpace page.

That's what the red-shirted gentleman in the video for The Bird and The Bee's single "Polite Dance Song" should have said before he threw down with his insane dance skills.

Apparently "Polite Dance Song" is from an EP titled 'Please Clap Your Hands' wgucg the Los angeles-based duo released last year. Somehow this fact totally eluded me.

They have another EP, this one digital-only, titled 'Many Hearts,' dropping February 12th. It has a cover of "Tonight You Belong to Me" from the Steve Martin film 'The Jerk' on it. It's also got a song called "Birthday" on it. Listen to it.

Cool Kids who?

Pacific Division what?

It's all about the throwback Hip-House/Baltimore Club shit Labtekwon and his homies 410 Pharaohs are kicking on their new single "Real Fresh."

I think legendary House and Hip-Hop producer Kenny Dope is involved in this entry in the growing retro-futuristic urban club-kid renaissance somehow.

Oh, and it's on the resurrected Strictly Rhythm record label.

Thanks to the homie Roberto for the heads up on this.

Adam Sandler has a new film coming out this Summer called 'You Don't Mess With The Zohan'. In it, he stars as an Israeli counter terrorist who decided to leave the Army, move to New York, get a new style and become a hairdresser.

So basically this is a story about 75% of the people who lived in my old neighborhood in the West Village (I lovingly dubbed it "Little Tel Aviv").

This is one of the first Adam Sandler movies I have actually wanted to go see, but there are a few things that already bother me.

1) How did Adam Sandler get the ok from the IDF for this?
2) Why does he have a French accent?
3) Why is Rob Schneider, who is half Jewish, playing a terrorist?

That's all. Other than that, I'm probably going to take my Mom to go and see this.

I don't generally drink sodas aside from ginger ale and more recently, Fanta. But I will give it to Pepsi for really trying this year with their advertisements. This is a Diet Pepsi Max Super Bowl and Grammy ad featuring some well known faces.

Maybe I'm just easily amused, but I burst out laughing a few times while watching this. Seeing both LL Cool J and Busta do the Haddaway "What Is Love?" head thing was funny enough. But then Chris Kattan at the end just sealed the deal.
